About Us
Worship with us
Covenant Reformed Church is a community centered around traditional, historical and liturgical Christian worship that is robust, reverent, and joyful.
In Our service we:
- Give thanks to God and praise him in songs that are full of beauty, richness, and depth.
- Hear solid biblical preaching and teaching from a Reformational perspective.
- Are a family-friendly, welcoming congregation, desiring unity with all fellow believers.
- Celebrate the Lord’s Supper together every Sunday as a means of communion with Jesus and with each other.
Children and Worship
at CRC
We welcome children of all ages into our worship service. We know that small children often make noise. While we ask parents to be sensitive to the needs of others, as a congregation we have a very high tolerance for the presence of children in the assembly. After all, entrance into the presence of God and participation in the liturgy are “baptismal” rights that belong to them as members of the royal priesthood.
We encourage you to train your children not simply to sit still through the service, but to actively participate in the service as much as they are able. One of the advantages of a liturgical pattern of worship is that there is enough repetition in the responses and service music that even small children can be easily taught how to participate. They quickly learn to enjoy the various elements of worship from standing and kneeling, to raising their hands, and joining in the corporate “Amen!”
Hopeful Eschatology
The story of the Bible is the story of God working in the world through humanity to fill the world with his glory. Even though sin entered into the world through Adam, life has come through Jesus Christ, the last Adam, and humanity is being restored to be what we were created to be – God’s image in the world.
In a time when the world seems to be spinning into absurdity and out of control, we remain confident that Jesus Christ has all authority in heaven and on earth, and that his plan for the salvation of the world is going exactly according to his plan. This means, most simply, that the gospel will prevail, and that the world will be filled with the knowledge of God of the glory of God as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14).
Reformed
Covenant Reformed Church stands in the historical stream of the Protestant Reformation, committed to always be reforming according to the Word of God. The word “Reformed” is a shorthand way of affirming the sovereignty of God in all things, and that we rely on Scripture to be the only sufficient guide in matters of faith and life.
Evangelical
By “evangelical” we mean that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only message of hope for a fallen world, and that there is no other name by which people can be rescued from the ruin and despair brought about by sin. It is the work of the church to proclaim the gospel to those inside and outside of the church, calling all people everywhere to trust in Christ alone for salvation, and to obey all that he has commanded.
Confessional
Covenant Reformed Church is a confessional church, meaning that we subscribe to a historic, Reformed confession of faith that serves as a summary statement of our beliefs. CRC subscribes to the Belgic Confession of Faith and the Heidelberg Catechism.
